African Kyoto Projects remain very rare... However, the potential of the bionergy projects in the continent (ie energy recovery from biomass) is very large ! But approved methodologies, and CDM procedures, are still insufficiently adapted to these projects.

The path of Voluntary Carbon Offset remains open. For many small or medium projects, it seems the most appropriate choice.

In the short term, Kiva Carbon favors this direction, and is moving towards priority projects that reduce non-renewable wood consumption  (the improved stoves), or use renewable biomass for energy production (use of crop residue, etc.)..
